Last one from me for two years.

I am preparing for a mission for my church. I am going to be gone for two years. I just finished packing all my stuff away and moved it all into the shop. I mean everything, including my car. I cleaned up 'Cali' and covered her. Well I will be on in a few years and write up some more car related posts.

June 7th

I Know it has been awhile but here we go, I will do a quick recap on all the projects.

The Ranchero:
Now I am back in Oregon I can work on it. I have painted some stripes and pinstriping on it. It is a little behind on maintenance, so it is gonna get that all in the next few days. It's got drop blocks in the back to level it out.

The Chevy:
It has been sold. I loved that truck but it was hard watching it rust away because we had no time to do work on it. It went to a great guy that will give it the care it needs.

The Nissan:
This is even surprising me that I will write about it. For those of you that know me, you should know how I feel about things of that era and imported. For those of you that don't know what I mean, I don't care for imports or cars any from the mid to late eighties. But I had this crazy picture for you all so I had to share it. Once we sold the chevy we had to move a trailer and so we just towed it with the Nissan, and it pulled it great.

Those are the projects right now, hopefully I will be updating it again soon.

Westside Road Relics Cruise in

Saturday, July 23, we went to the Westside Road Relics Cruise in at Burgurville. We took Both the Falcon and the Ranchero.  When we got there and parked away from each other, then the dark blue Ranchero showed up, we moved Cali to be next to the others.

I got to show off my engine and interior work. 

We thought it was good.

Today my dad was driving the Ranchero for some errands and I told him to be careful because the steering seemed sloppy. he said it was loose but not too bad. When he returned home as he was driving up the drive way one of the tie-rod ends for the steering came out. Yikes, I'm glad I wasn't driving.
Yesterday evening we went to the Dairy Queen drive in show on the way home from pizza. I cant wait to take my car. Mine wont fit in because it looks so bad. Its still at least four different colors.
Today I worked on the Falcon and got the column shifter so it stops falling out as you shift from 1st to 2nd. I painted it so it looks nice and its getting ready to sell.

Driving the beast

The Ranchero is a nice ride. I have to finish some body work, then Im ready for paint. I need to choose a color but I am thinking a red like the A

 But more important problems are steering bushing needs to be replaced. I need to take some longer test runs with the Ranchero.

Update on the Ranchero

Yesterday I put some new wheels and tires on the Ranchero. They are a matching set of steel wheels, with white stripe tires. They look pretty cool on my car. We are having the stalling problem again, so it is again in the shop. We have some theories whats wrong so it shouldn't be too long before it is on the road again.
